In life, there’s always something pulling for our attention: our never ending to do lists, our list of priorities, our dreams and ambitions (to name a few).

But the Lord’s been reminding me that despite everything we have going on, we can’t neglect spending time with Him.

In the midst of the busyness, life’s trials, and everything He’s called us to, the feet of Jesus is the most important place we could ever be. He alone needs to remain our top priority.

Because if He’s not, before long we’ll find ourselves trying to navigate life on our own and in our own strength. And time and time again, I’m constantly reminded that I cannot do life without Christ. I’m not enough.

It takes the power of the Holy Spirit to do the things He’s placed in front of us.

So, I just want to challenge us to reflect on the following questions:

1. Where have I been trying to do things in my own strength? What’s been the result?
2. What are my priorities? Where is the Lord in that list of priorities?
3. Where am I spending my time? Have I given my yes away too much? What can I take off my plate?
4. What’s been hindering me from running my race with endurance?
5. If the Lord hasn’t been my top priority, what steps can I take this week to change that?

Prayer

God, reveal my priorities to me. If You haven’t been my number one priority, I repent. Help me shift what needs to be shifted. Help me to slow down, to raise my gaze, and fix my eyes on You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen!
